The Xiaomi Redmi Note 10S is an entry-level smartphone that we rate 9/10 in our columns. Well balanced, this model surprises with its technical specifications and its price, which today becomes even more interesting, going from 249 euros to just 189 euros for the 128 GB model.
In the category of smartphones under 200 euros, Xiaomi is somewhat the master of the place. With its Redmi Note range, the Chinese manufacturer leaves little to no room for other competitors. If the eleventh generation of the range has been available for a few weeks, today it is the Redmi Note 10 range that interests us and more specifically the S model. The latter is inspired by the classic version, but improves the photographic experience and offers better performance. for a contained price. It is also the 128 GB version that benefits from better value for money, thanks to a reduction of 60 euros.

A basic that perfectly fulfills its functions
The Redmi Note 10S occupies a good part of its technical data sheet with the Redmi Note 10. The similarities are above all aesthetic, since these two models share the same dimensions, the same front and back face. We find the same 6.43-inch Super AMOLED panel that displays Full HD + definition with a refresh rate but limited to 60Hz. Result: the screen is bright with excellent contrasts and fairly well calibrated colors.
Once returned, we discover in the S version a quad photosensor with a noticeable change. The main photosensor goes to 64 megapixels (instead of the 48 megapixels of the classic model). This is a much appreciated addition that will allow the smartphone to ensure good quality shots when the light conditions are met. As for the rest of the sensors, the ultra wide angle, macro and depth cameras offer the same performance as in the classic version, but can still be improved.
A Redmi Note 10S… solid for the price
To operate efficiently, the Redmi Note 10S is powered by a MediaTek Helio G95 chip, a different processor than the classic model that is more efficient. In our test, it’s a pleasant surprise, because it was able to run Fortnite at fairly high graphics quality, but it was a bit slow. This is still quite a feat compared to the Redmi Note 10, which did not go above the “low” level. This setup provides a welcome power gain and good everyday fluidity. In addition, the MIUI 12 branded interface based on Android 11 offers a clearly pleasant and smooth experience.
To keep up with the times, the phone has a large 5000 mAh battery. Despite a processor change, the device’s endurance remains unaffected. The smartphone can be used for two days before requiring a full charge, depending on usage. It even supports fast charging up to 33W to quickly recover percentages: 50% in 30 minutes.
