The Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G and the Redmi Note 11S 5G complete Xiaomi’s entry level. The former adds mostly 120W charging to the classic Pro version, while the Note 11S 5G changes quite a few points from the 11S 4G’s spec sheet.
We thought of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 series, but that was without counting the arrival of two new challengers: here is Xiaomi announcing the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G and the Redmi Note 11S 5G to complete its entry level. Here’s how to tell them apart from the pack.
The Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G, 120W charging at the heart
We start with the one that wants to be “the definitive Redmi Note”, the Redmi Note 11 Pro + 5G. It roughly resumes the technical sheet of the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G, with a slight modification on the battery and charging side.
We went from a fairly large battery of 5000 mAh to 4500 mAh. We expect the phone to be a bit slimmer than its friend. But its biggest argument is of course the incorporation of a 120W load, capable, according to Xiaomi, of going from 0 to 100% in 15 minutes. Let’s add that the charger is well provided in the box.
For the rest, we find the 6.67-inch Amoled screen in Full HD + and 120 Hz, the 5G MediaTek Dimensity 920 chip and the three photosensors of 108 megapixels, 8 megapixels and 2 megapixels (wide angle, ultra wide angle and macro). The screen is further protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and the IP 53 certification is still there. The phone also comes with MIUI 12.5, which is based on Android 11.
As for connectivity, we switched to Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2, which is always interesting for the life of the device.
Three versions of the smartphone will be marketed. Unfortunately, only dollar prices are available at the moment. These allow at least to get an idea of the price in euros. Are here :
- 6GB + 128GB = $369;
- 8GB + 128GB = $399;
- 8GB + 256GB = $449.
Red Note 11S 5G
You might think that the Redmi Note 11S 5G takes over the spec sheet of the 11S by adding 5G to it, but that would be too simple.
It swaps the Helio G96 for a Mediatek 810, equipped with 5G, a chip that has the advantage of being a little more powerful and with a greater delicacy of engraving (6nm vs. 12nm). The rest of the connectivity is still limited to Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1, with the presence of an NFC chip.
But the name change also means a bigger screen, with a 6.6-inch panel versus 6.47-inch, still in LCD, and still with a 90Hz refresh rate. Not surprisingly, the Note 11S 5G shows more generous measurements: 163.56 mm wide. height against 159.87, 8.75 mm thick against 8.09 in the 11S 4G and a weight of 179 grams to 195 g.
Another noteworthy change: the photo settings also change a bit. The Redmi Note 11S 5G shows a 50-megapixel main module compared to the 108-megapixel 11S 4G.
Otherwise, the phone retains its 33W charging and 500mAh battery, as well as Android 11-based MIUI 13 support out of the box.
Three versions of the Redmi Note 11S 5G will be offered. We only know the prices in dollars at the moment:
- 4GB + 64GB = $249;
- 4GB + 128GB = $279;
- 6GB + 128GB = $299.
