SONY XR-55A90J

2022 is a busy year when it comes to sporting events between the Winter Olympics and the FIFA World Cup. Here you have a selection of televisions that have been tested in our Laboratory to enjoy them in the best conditions.

With the hundreds of references available, it is not always easy to choose a television without making a mistake. Several technologies coexist, all of which have their advantages and disadvantages.

At the top of the range, the OLED displays incredible contrast ratio and perfect blacks. On the other hand, brightness can sometimes be an issue, for example if you’re watching dark scenes in the middle of the day. OLED is perfectly suited to sports: TVs with this technology generally offer a motion compensation system to prevent blurring during fast action, and colors are extremely faithful. However, although the technology is now more affordable, it is still more expensive than LED TVs.

The latter have not said their last word, with improved image quality, and especially high brightness. On the other hand, unlike OLED, viewing angles are sometimes narrow. This means that viewers sitting to the side will not necessarily benefit from the same picture quality as those sitting on the TV’s axis. To help you get your bearings, here is a selection of some models that we were able to test in the lab. In any case, do not hesitate to consult our other tests to know everything about the television you are thinking of buying.

one Sony KE-48A9

This TV’s 47.5-inch OLED panel displays contrast and viewing angles that scored top marks in our lab. The rest of the features are not left out, the Sony KE-48A9 being one of the best televisions of the moment.

6 Xiaomi Mi P1

With its 32-inch diagonal, the Xiaomi Mi P1 is intended for rooms of modest size. Its LED panel is content with a 720p HD definition, but its Android TV system allows you to take advantage of the many applications offered by Google Play. In terms of performance, the Xiaomi Mi P1 is a homogeneous television. It got very decent results in most of the lab tests, particularly in terms of contrast and uniformity.
