The partnership between the photography specialist Leica and Xiaomi will soon bear fruit. The Chinese brand will announce its news on July 4, 2022.
We do not have to wait long to discover the fruits of the partnership between Leica and Xiaomi. We have known since the end of May that the German photography specialist Leica has signed a partnership with Xiaomi to improve the photography of the brand’s smartphones. For Xiaomi, it is “of a decisive moment» and the opening of a «new era“. In other words, the manufacturer is very ambitious regarding its next devices.
The wait is already coming to an end, Xiaomi has announced a conference for July 4 in China that leaves little room for doubt about its content.
Three smartphones for Leica
The date was announced by Xiaomi founder Lei Jun via Twitter. The conference will take place on July 4 at 1:00 p.m. (Paris time) and will allow you to discover the “latest innovations, Xiaomi smartphones developed with Leica to open a new era in imaging“.

While we might initially think of a launch focused on the Xiaomi 12 Ultra, it will actually be a new range of devices. So we should have a Xiaomi 12S, a Xiaomi 12S Pro and a Xiaomi 12S Ultra. In this configuration, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will never see the light of day under this name. The brand probably made this decision to mark a break with the Xiaomi 12 generation, developed without Leica.
According to rumours, Xiaomi’s Ultra smartphone should feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chip, a 6.7-inch QHD+ 120Hz display and a 4800mAh battery in particular. It remains above all to discover the intriguing features of the camera and to be able to test it for ourselves when the device arrives in Europe.
