Xiaomi has just launched its new wireless headphones in France. Offered for less than 50 euros, the Redmi Buds 3 offer a design very inspired by that of the AirPods 3
Xiaomi announced this Thursday the arrival in France of its new range of Redmi smartphones, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11, Xiaomi Redmi Note 11S and Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro. However, the Chinese firm did not stop there and took advantage of the announcement to launch in Europe a new pair of wireless headphones, the Xiaomi Redmi Buds 3.
These new headphones seem to want to respond directly to Apple’s AirPods 3 with a very similar design. Thus, we find the stem at the bottom of the earphones that directs the microphone towards the user’s mouth, but also open earphones. There is no trace of in-ear tips here, unlike the Redmi Buds 3 Pro, the Redmi Buds 3 are open-back earphones that therefore fit at the entrance, but not inside the ear canal.
In terms of features, the new Redmi Buds 3 each weigh 4.5 grams. The headphones are also IP54 certified and therefore splash and dust proof. They are equipped with a small touch surface at the level of the stem that allows you to control reading or answer calls. The earphones do not come with an app to use their earphones on smartphones from other manufacturers and, as with the Redmi Buds 3 Pro, they will necessarily have to be used with a Xiaomi smartphone to have full control over their settings, such as an equalizer. . .
Large 12mm drivers
As for audio transmission, the Redmi Buds 3 are compatible with Bluetooth 5.2 and the AAC and SBC codecs. If Xiaomi indicates that its headphones are equipped with a Qualcomm chip, they do not support the American equipment manufacturer’s aptX codec. For sound reproduction, Xiaomi chose 12mm transducers.
While the earbuds don’t offer passive isolation or active noise reduction during listening, the Redmi Buds 3 do benefit from noise cancellation during calls, so your caller isn’t disturbed by noises around them and can focus on his voice.
The Xiaomi Redmi Buds 3 enjoy a battery life of 5 hours only with the headphones and up to 20 hours using the charging case. The firm also specifies that 10 minutes of charging allows you to enjoy 1h30 of listening.
The Xiaomi Redmi Buds 3 are already available, only in white. For the launch they are offered at a price of 39.99 euros, but later they should be offered at 49.99 euros.
