Samsung won’t be the only one to introduce new foldable smartphones this week. Xiaomi comes to play spoilsports.
After months of rumours, Samsung will finally officially unveil its new range of foldable smartphones at a major Samsung Galaxy Unpacked conference. If the firm will also present watches and headphones, it is the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 that will be the protagonists of the event.
That’s not counting the Chinese giant Xiaomi, which intends not to leave all the media coverage to Samsung this week. The counter-event is dated.
The Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 will be presented the next day
On Weibo, Xiaomi has confirmed the organization of a conference on Thursday, August 11, starting at 7:00 p.m. local time, or 1:00 p.m. in Paris. The invitation leaves no room for doubt: the firm will present a folding smartphone, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2.
This is a planned presentation for China. It will be interesting to see if Xiaomi intends to offer an international version of its foldable smartphone. The first generation never made it outside the border of China, where Samsung’s range of foldables are available around the world.
Samsung should come out winner of the event. After all, to create its smartphone, Xiaomi should equip itself with foldable Oled tiles from Samsung. We are still eager to discover this new design for the still nascent foldable smartphone market. It is always good to take on more competition between manufacturers.
Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro and Xiaomi Pad also in the game
The Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 will not be the only device presented by Xiaomi this week. On social networks, the firm also promised a presentation of the Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro and the Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro.
Which will also give competition to the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro expected for the Unpacked. Between Samsung and Xiaomi, the match is now announced. See you at the end of the week to see which manufacturer has been the most convincing.
