Xiaomi’s Chinese conference was an opportunity to present MIUI 13 in more detail and the future features that await us. The manufacturer’s site also lists the first smartphones and tablets that will be entitled to this software update.
MIUI 13 was presented by Xiaomi at a Chinese end-of-year conference. The next version of the manufacturer’s software is entitled to a little facelift that brings some new features that we are going to present to you.
First of all, it should be noted that the event was also an opportunity to present Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro and Xiaomi 12X.
First, MIUI 13 should give pride of place to widgets, which will opt for very rounded lines. In general, the images shown make you want to use them. Xiaomi also seems to follow the same philosophy as Android 12.
This rounded appearance is even worse in the new Control Center presented by the brand’s teams. Here, the group seems determined to stand out from everyone else with large radio buttons that would allow it to manage its connected ecosystem.
Of course, we will test these new features as soon as possible.
New wallpapers and increased security
Xiaomi also talks about new wallpapers, a new system font that gives more space to numbers, for example. The company has also placed an emphasis on security by presenting a tool capable of detecting and warning you of electronic fraud. The system might even block the installation of a rogue app, further boosting your system to verify installed apps.
In a context in which data security is becoming an increasingly central element of our daily lives, Xiaomi wants to reassure you by giving you better control of your privacy. MIUI 13, for example, will allow you to check which applications collect and use this or that personal information.
Xiaomi also claims to have optimized its software interface, for better fluidity of system applications.
In addition, one of the main novelties of MIUI 13 will be the number of compatible devices. We are not only talking about smartphones here, but also about tablets, connected watches and televisions that will be launched or updated to MIUI 13. Specifically, Xiaomi promises to bring more consistency to its ecosystem. One function will simply allow you to press and hold a video from your smartphone to allow it to be played on your TV or on a Xiaomi tablet.
