Xiaomi should soon implement MIUI 13.5, but some smartphones with MIUI 13 will not be able to take advantage of it.
If you use a Xiaomi smartphone, it is a safe bet that you have updated to MIUI 13 for some time or have been waiting for the update with great anticipation. As a reminder, the latest version of the Chinese brand interface works on both Android 11 and Android 12.
As for MIUI 12, which was entitled to a MIUI 12.5, Xiaomi is preparing a slightly more refined version called MIUI 13.5. However, this should remove Android 11 phones, according to the specialized site. XiaomiUIto focus only on Android 12.
The phones in question
Clearly, phones that can no longer benefit from a major Android update will need to stay on MIUI 12. XiaomiUI lists the phones in question:
Remember that most manufacturers tie their latest version of the interface to Google’s operating system. The fact that Android 11 phones could take advantage of MIUI 13 can already be considered an advantage, or an extension of the software life of these devices.
XiaomiUI mentions a reason for the end of this support: the more MIUI updates progress, the more dependent the interface would become on the current version of Android. If we follow this logic, using Android 11 became more and more complicated.
