Almost a year after its announcement in China, the Black Shark 4 Pro finally arrives in France. The brand’s new gaming smartphone is attacking mobile gamers with a solid technical sheet. Close to the Black Shark 4 (read our test), it incorporates a few different components to justify its orientation and Pro designation. This variant has a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen that displays Full HD+ definition (2400 x 1080 pixels) and a frequency 144Hz refresh rate. It also supports custom 60Hz or 90Hz rates and is HDR10+ compatible. The firm adds a 720 Hz touch sampling to offer a particularly responsive smartphone. The slab is punched in its upper part to house the front camera.
Designed for gaming, the Black Shark 4 Pro adds two physical pressure-sensitive triggers. They are configurable and avoid connecting an external controller. The smartphone also takes care of the audio part and has risen to the top spot in the DXOMARK audio ranking. It also retains the 3.5mm jack.
Black Shark 4 Pro: a smartphone dedicated to gamers
Under the hood, the smartphone is built around a Snapdragon 888 and a comfortable amount of RAM ranging from 8 to 12 GB. The manufacturer offers 6400 MHz LPDDR RAM. Formalized last year, the Black Shark 4 Pro ignores the latest Qualcomm chip but nevertheless has a particularly powerful chip. The amount of storage varies between 128 and 256 GB in UFS 3.1, depending on the version chosen. For autonomy, the brand supported by Xiaomi offers a 4,500 mAh battery with 120 W fast charge. It allows you to fully charge the smartphone in just 15 minutes; and remember the charging impression of the Xiaomi 11T Pro. Added to this is a liquid cooling system while the charger comes in the box.
Even if it is aimed primarily at gamers, the smartphone is unpretentious in photography. It is equipped with a 64-megapixel main sensor, supported by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle and a 5-megapixel macro. On the front, Black Shark adds a 20-megapixel camera.
The smartphone is based on 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 6 and supports Bluetooth 5.2. The set has dimensions of 163.8 x 76.4 x 9.9 mm for a weight of 220 grams. Dimensions close to heavyweights in the sector such as the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra or the iPhone 13 Pro Max. On the software side, the Black Shark 4 Pro runs on the JoyUI 12.5 operating system based on MIUI 12.5.
